Laid off in a foreign country.

Hello. Wow. We weren’t expecting that. Sure, we had made comments among ourselves that this doesn’t seem like the most cost-efficient business model. We had talked about the huge outlay of money to move so many people, support so many people with housing, schooling, relocation assistance. Sure, it is probably a drop in the bucket for an international company, but the lack of coordination, follow through and efficiency has been disturbing.

The shoe dropped yesterday. Dean was called into a meeting and there sat a human resources rep. We all know what that means.

The nice part is we are headed home. We hope Southern California home. It all depends on the job hunt.

Panama is beautiful, fascinating and has shown us a great deal. We knew it wouldn’t be our forever home. But we will be sad to say goodbye.
